Dublin Buildings: A new online resource for children in Dublin City Public Libraries
Friday 10/12/2010
As part of Dublin City Public Libraries’ commitment to services for children, some new resources have been developed which may be of interest to teachers, students and librarians.
Now you can access videos on Dublin buildings, including libraries, aswell as landmarks and monuments at www.dublincitypubliclibraries.com/dublin-buildings.
The aim of the project was to create local history content suitable for primary school children and second level students up to Junior Certificate.
This project was developed by library staff following a consultation with teachers across the city area. Library staff researched the history of buildings and places of interest recommended by teachers.
There are three public library buildings which have videos featured on the site... Rathmines, Pearse Street and Marsh’s Library.
